Introduction

A couple of weeks ago Phil Haack bought the domain letmebingthatforyou.com. Maarten Balliauw and myself immediately volunteered to put in some elbow grease to elevate the usage of Bing to a more “sophisticated decision making engine” with the project.

Note: this project is not associated with Microsoft nor Bing. We’re doing this project just for fun.

What is LetMeBingThatForYou?

Sometimes you get a question which makes you sigh. This either due to the stupidity of the user, or the laziness of the user. In these cases LetMeBingThatForYou! comes in handy. You just enter the url and with a bang on the button you get a shortened version of the url to provide to the stupid or lazy user.

Now, to be honest, the original idea is influenced by LetMeGoogleThatForYou. We just put in some extra nifties to give it a bit more of a modern experience. Just like Bing itself!

Maarten Balliauw also provided some further details on his blog.

We created the project with very basic ingredients:

  • ASP.NET MVC
  • jQuery
  • SOAP connector
